New Hire Orientation
Objective:
The participant will learn how to construct a meaningful orientation which will provide new and current employees with program which will give them what they need to feel welcome, know why they were hired or promoted, and know how to do the job.
Process:
- Identify the ways of building employee commitment: clarity, competence, influence, and appreciation
- Understand the importance of perceptions – positive first impressions about organizations
- Learn about Induction, Orientation and Training
- Work as groups to design an effective orientation checklist
- Work as groups to design an effective orientation program
- Practice implementation of a successful orientation system
Outcome:
The participant will be able to implement a well- organized orientation program that will foster commitment, performance and longevity. Using this information, they will be able to develop and implement a unique and all-inclusive program that will benefit the whole organization; detailing activities, duties and responsibilities for employees as well as supervisors.
